Alright so I know I owe y’all a Fun Meat Fact Friday.. It’s coming up, I promise! But in the mean time I want to start something new. Feature Friday is an idea that I got from Twitter. Since many of you maybe don’t use social media too often outside of Facebook or email, I want to introduce you to some people whom I follow.. Many of which I’ve met in real life, all I strive to someday meet. Some are farmers, some are dairymen, some are ranchers, some are involved in government. But no matter what field of agriculture, these people are doing much of the same things I am doing here.. Sharing experiences,  knowledge, photos… A real look inside their lives. I invite you to check them out and follow along!

Travis Arp of The Meat of the Issues– Currently earning his Ph.D. student at Colorado State University studying Meat Science, Travis has spent much time working all through this industry. His passion is cattle, meat science, and all things production agriculture related.  Always thought provoking reads, he works hard to dispel some common myths people often have about the meat industry.

David Hayden of Farming America– A recent graduate of Oklahoma State University with a masters in Meat Science, he is passionate about animal agriculture and consumer education and relaying the importance of family farming in the U.S. He and his family have dedicated their lives to producing safe, economical and quality products, in order to help meet the demands of the world’s ever growing population. A great source for meat related information as well as more broad spectrum Ag posts.

Brian Scott of The Farmer’s Life– A farmer alongside his my father and grandfather on 2,300 acres of land in northwest Indiana. They grow corn, soybeans, popcorn, and wheat. After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Soil and Crop Management, he decided not to return to the farm. But life has others plans for Brian , he finally decided the farm is where I was meant to be, and he has been loving it ever since! He gives us a wonderful daily look into the life of a farmer, constantly sharing photos of his everyday life as well as giving us a wealth of information about a variety of topics!

Ryan Goodman of Agriculture Proud– If there is one person I know without a doubt that embodies the word “agriculture” it is Ryan… ” I want to hear what others have to ask, share my knowledge, and sometimes learn with them. I want consumers to become more educated about food production before they criticize our work, and hopefully gain an appreciation for the work those of us in agriculture do daily. I want to hear others share their stories so we can stand up with a strong voice and tell the world how we produce the food on every plate”

Katie Pinke of Pinke Post– Katie gives us a prairie perspective from the heart of rural North Dakota. She blogs about family, food, farming and the chaos of being a working mom on the rural prairie. Katie works hard to bridge the gap between non-ag and ag through making connections with people, connecting other people, as well as simply sharing her experiences and relationships she’s formed. She’s constantly finding life lessons in simple every day things, sharing recipes, as well as her life with us.

Please feel free to follow these people, contact these people, ask questions. They love to talk about their passions and would love to hear from you as well! Happy Friday everyone!
